It certainly wasn’t the best of weekend’s for the BMW Sauber outfit at the recent Monaco Grand Prix where both drivers, Nick Heidfeld and Robert Kubica, failed to make an impression on the tight and twisty streets around the Principality Heidfeld finishing eleventh and Kubica failing to finish due to brake problems.
However, the problems started well before Sunday’s race with the car failing to be competitive at anytime throughout the weekend. Overall, it was a disappointing weekend for the entire Hinwil based squad as former owner turned consultant Peter Sauber explained....
“I have had happier days in Monaco,” Sauber said on the team’s official website. “We have blundered into an uncomfortable situation and are now in a race against time. However, precisely this kind of crisis gives us the opportunity to prove what a strong team we truly are.”
It is now the team’s goal to be competitive again in the upcoming round in Istanbul, but a lot of work lies ahead of them to ensure this happens... |
