A1GP: France wins chaotic Sprint race!

Team France secured yet another victory, his 12th, on his way to championship glory in Mexico today when Alexander Prémat took the chequered flag ahead of their main rival for the inaugural crown, Switzerland. This is Neel Jani’s final event in the series as after this weekend he will take up his position as third driver for the Scuderia Toro Rosso Formula One team.

Italy was third followed home by the Netherlands, with Jos Verstappen recording the fastest lap of the face. The Cheq republic was fifth followed by Team USA.

After a first lap incident that saw contact between Mexico and Ireland, the safety car had been deployed so that marshals could remove the crumpled cars and coming down the main straight, Japan ran into the back of New Zealand, scrambled over the top of the car before flipping three times and coming to a halt upside down amidst a stream of debris.

There was also an incident between Great Britain and Brazil that saw Brazilian driver Christian Fittipaldi limp to the finish.
