Aero testing for Renault

The ING Renault F1 Team completed day two of testing at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit on Wednesday, with race driver Heikki Kovalainen at the wheel of chassis R27-06. A more substantial programme was planned for the second day of running, with the Finn testing new aerodynamic components as part of the team's on-going performance development.

He enjoyed a trouble-free day and was able to complete over 450 km without any technical problems.

"We had a good day of work today, testing the latest aerodynamic developments for the car,” the young Finn said. “We did a lot of laps, completed a lot of tests and got a lot of data. The job now is to work through that and analyse it, in order to continue making progress ahead of the race in Hungary. We are moving forward all the time, and I think we can be confident of a strong performance there."

Nelson Piquet Jr will resume driving duties for the final day of the test here today.
