Fernando Alonso ahs told the Guardian that while his 2007 season with the McLaren Formula One team was tough at the time, he can look back now and see just how much he has grown as a result of the in house bickering with then rookie racer Lewis Hamilton.
“2007 was very difficult but I learnt a lot personally," he told the British newspaper. "It was good for my career to take that step of joining McLaren and growing up. I learned how to work with a team and also to withstand the media pressure. The difficulties I had were coming from the team and the media. Now I am much more prepared for everything in Formula One – and in life as well."
Since leaving the Woking based squad Fernando has faced further upsets, least of all being the Singapore GP ‘crashgate’ scandal that his teammate and Renault teams were involved in, bringing him into the scandal in the process. However, his move to Ferrari for the 2010 Formula One season now sees him as the happiest he has ever been. |
