Even though the Honda Racing Formula One team confirmed their driver line up early in the season, announcing to the press that Rubens Barrichello and Jenson Button would continue in 2008, rumours continue that Barrichello could be dropped to sister team Super Aguri.

While early rumours had the Brazilian retiring then moving due to finishing the 2007 season with no points at all, the signing of Ross Brawn seemed to cancel them out as the two worked very well together during their time at Ferrari and both were looking forward to being reunited.

But, now, the rumours have returned as Fernando Alonso’s options narrow, the tabloids indicating that the Spaniard has been to Brackley recently while Brawn and Barrichello paid a visit to the Super Aguri headquarters.

Brawns signing to Honda could be a strong pull for Alonso, and it would be yet another strong coup if the team added Alonso’s name to their employee list, however, it is doubtful that Alonso’s terms of a one year deal have changed recently and it is also doubtful that Barrichello would agree to such a move.
