It seems as if all the smoke surrounding the possibility of Monaco being dropped from the Formula One calendar in favour of a Russian Grand Prix was just that, smoke, as according to Formula One’s official website, the most prestigious event on the schedule has renewed its contract for a further ten years.
FOM Chief Bernie Ecclestone was quoted as saying that the Formula One circus could do without stopping in Monaco every year because organizers just didn’t pay enough.
However he reportedly met with Michel Boeri, Monaco President, in London recently and much to everyone’s delight, agreed to continue the event until 2020. |
