After officially lodging an appeal into the final results of the Brazilian grand prix a week ago, the sport’s governing body, the FIA, has confirmed that the International Court of Appeal will listen to McLaren’s concerns on the fifteenth of November.
At the end of the season finale, FIA delegate Jo Bauer discovered a discrepancy in regard to the fuel temperatures in four cars, three of which finished ahead of Lewis Hamilton. For over six hours, Kimi Raikkonen’s title as world champion was in limbo while stewards looked into the situation.
However, the stewards opted to penalize the two BMW’s and Williams as they claimed the evidence was too inconsistent and McLaren believes that the situation needs to be clarified, hence their appeal. |
