BAR intend to keep up the pressure
While Ferrari and Michael Schumacher have come out on top for eleven of the twelve races contested so far this season, they haven’t had it too easy with their rivals chasing them all the way to the chequered flag. However, that doesn’t mean that the Italian squad have just one fierce competitor, in fact, they have several, BAR Honda included, but to date the Brackley based squad have yet to claim their first victory. According to the team’s technical director, Geoff Willis, despite the fact that they are not the ones challenging for the win at each and every race as they continue the learning curve with Michelin, development is ongoing and they definitely intend to keep up the pressure until they get to where they need to be. ”We’ve been generally quite consistent everywhere. It was McLaren who made a big step forward at Silverstone. In Canada we got the car set-up wrong – it was one of those lessons that we needed to learn in our first year with Michelin. Since then we’ve been consistently quick,” Willis told Autosport. “And we’ve carried on developing. Here there were more little developments on the car, both engine and chassis, and it’s important to keep making those and keep the pressure on those people around us. “
