Barcelona: Day four – Zonta takes the lead
Panasonic Toyota test driver Ricardo Zonta set the best overall time of the day at the end of the final session here at the Barcelona circuit for the year while BMW WilliamsF1 test driver Antonio Pizzonia certainly increased his chances of securing the second seat at the Grove based squad with a firm second placed finish.

1997 world champion Jacques Villeneuve, made his debut at the wheel of a Sauber today, the Canadian driver, spending his day adapting to the Swiss based squad and registering the third best time overall. Pedro de la Rosa arrived or McLaren, taking over from fellow tester Alexander Wurz to work on the teams 2005 aerodynamic development. De la Rosa, who shared the pit garage with Juan Pablo Montoya, completed 85 laps and did the fourth best time with the Colombian in fifth.

While the teams head to Jerez next week, the Circuit de Catalunya will start asphalting work, which will be finished in mid-January so that the track will be ready for next round of pre-season testing.
