Barcelona: Ferrari shine in Spain
While Renault, Toyota and BAR finalized their testing schedules at the Valencia circuit, Ferrari and Sauber joined the McLaren team at the Barcelona circuit where they kicked off a three day program on the tail end of McLaren’s debut test of the new MP4-20. Ferrari tester Luca Badoer finished the day at the top of the timesheets in last years dominating F2004 while Michael Schumacher, in charge of the car that will start the 2005 season in Melbourne in five weeks time, the F2004M, finished second, more than half a second faster than Juan Pablo Montoya in the new McLaren. Meanwhile, Sauber’s Felipe Massa rounded off the times with the fourth best place, over a second and a half off the pace.
