According to reports on the BBC, Renault have opted to hire Eric Boullier to replace the shamed Flavio Briatore as head of their Formula One outfit for the upcoming 2010 championship season, despite the fact that the 36 year old Frenchman refuses to confirm the appointment.
"There are some discussions, but it is definitely still pending further discussion," he told the BBC. "It's one possibility."
Boullier, who used to carry out the role of managing director of the French DAMS GP2 team, is said to have been introduced to workers in Oxfordshire by new 75% stakeholder of the team, Gerard Lopez, who has also recently met with contracted driver Robert Kubica.
Kubica wanted to be reassured that the future of the team was stable before continuing with his contract to race for them in 2010. |
