It has been revealed that Toyota test driver Ryan Briscoe will test for the Jordan Grand Prix team this coming week, during the same session as Dutch DTM driver Christijan Albers, who was behind the wheel of a Minardi earlier this week.
This will be Jordan’s first test session since the end of the 2004 season, the Silverstone based squad opting to sit out this week’s program at the Circuit de Catalunya this week. They will test from Wednesday to Saturday however at this stage it is still unknown exactly which days Ryan will be behind the wheel of the interim chassis powered by the 2004 spec Cosworth engines.
Jordan will run Toyota engines in 2005 and it is highly speculated that by hiring Ryan to race for the coming championship season, a deal will be done with the Japanese engine giant that will help sweeten the deal.
