With the second GP2 test since the end of the 2006 season about to begin at the Paul Ricard circuit later this morning, Bruno Senna, nephew of the late great triple world champion, Ayrton Senna, has revealed that a full time drive in the Formula One feeder series is just around the corner and from there it will be a small step up into the pinnacle of Motorsports.
Speaking in the German press, young Senna, who recently conducted a test alongside Aussie racer Michael Patrizi for the DPR GP2 team (pictured), admitted that he hoped to be lining up on the F1 grid by 2009.
“I already have contacts in F1 and depending on how I go in GP2, I want to be in F1 within two years,” he revealed to Bild.
It is no secret that Bruno has friends in the paddock, such as Toro Rosso boss, Gerhard Berger, who was friends and teammates with his legendary uncle and rumours were doing the rounds back in the Albert Park paddock in early April that a future partnership between the two was on the agenda. |
