It was another hot and sunny day in Monza for the second day of the test with ambient temperatures of 31˚c as Jenson Button joined his Honda Racing team, the Hungarian GP winner taking over from the Brackley based squad’s man Friday, Anthony Davidson. After a couple of acclimatisation runs, he concentrated on finding a good balance in the car throughout the morning session in readiness for an intensive tyre program.
Jenson began the tyre evaluation at the start of the afternoon, looking at the options for the Italian Grand Prix next weekend and despite continuous circuit red lights which interrupted running throughout the day, he completed a total of 107 laps, 49 laps in the morning and 58 in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the garage, teammate Rubens Barrichello also spent the morning session finding a good set-up, followed by a short tyre evaluation. He worked on tyre evaluations during the afternoon, alongside some electronics set-up work to complete 75 laps overall, 34 in the morning and 41 in the afternoon. |
