British American Racing star Jenson Button has upped the ante in regard to his maiden victory, the British born racer promising to ‘bare his bum’ when he finally crosses the finish line in P1.
Jenson was asked by men’s magazine, FHM, that when he achieved his first podium finish was there any temptation in the euphoria of the moment to do a ‘Button moon’ Naturally Jenson was all smiles at the thought, but admitted that fans may just get a surprise when he finally nabs that elusive first win.
“Ha ha! No, but now I’m gonna do one when I win my first race,” he was quoted as saying, tongue in cheek.
On a more serious note, Jenson was quick to praise the British American Racing team and tyre suppliers at Michelin for giving him the car to push for podium finishes.
“Some of it’s down to me and some of it is down to the team,” he said when asked how come he was suddenly so good on the racetrack. “I think I’ve pushed a lot harder for the things I want within the team, especially at race weekends. Obviously the car is much quicker than last year — the engine, aerodynamics and tyres are better. We’ve been working really well with Michelin this year, which has made a big difference.”
