The Swiss based Sauber Petronas team began a scheduled three-day testing session at the Circuit de Catalunya on Friday where regular driver Felipe Massa completed a total of 93 laps in chassis C24-01.
The Brazilian racer recorded a best overall time of 1:17.488, however, due to the very low temperatures experienced. The team were unable to cover the amount of mileage planned in the morning session and were forced to wait until the weather and track conditions improved.
“For this reason we were not able to run our program as previously scheduled,” explained Mike Krack. “We also found it difficult to achieve the right car balance today and therefore we will focus on more set-up work to improve it."
Felipe will continue testing here today before handing over to teammate Jacques Villeneuve to complete the test on Sunday.
