Lucky Strike B.A.R Honda returned to the race track on Wednesday with the new '05 Concept car featuring much of next year's technology and the first of their scheduled three-day test at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona saw Jenson Button and Enrique Bernoldi carrying out the driving responsibilities.
Enrique was first to drive the '05 Concept car; the Brazilian spending the morning giving the car an initial shakedown. He completed 17 laps encountering some minor teething problems.
Jenson ran chassis 006-06, evaluating a 2005 aerodynamic and tyre package. He spent most of the morning finding a good set-up, alongside an engine evaluation for Honda. He completed a total of 39 laps in the morning session. The Englishman then spent the afternoon running through a Michelin tyre evaluation program. He completed a further 23 laps to bring his lap tally for the day to 62 laps. Enrique, meanwhile, completed a further 34 laps in the '05 Concept car.
The drivers will switch cars today giving Jenson his chance to drive the Concept car for the first time while Enrique will drive chassis 006-06.
