The Cosworth powered WilliamsF1 team kicked off their final pre 2006 season at the Valencia circuit in Spain on Monday where their regular drivers, Mark Webber and Nico Rosberg, were both on duty.
Although the weather stayed fine, it was a cold start to the day with Nico recording a total of 84 laps around the Spanish track to record the best overall time of the day with a 1:11.021. Meanwhile, teammate Mark Webber clocked up 67 laps to finish third overall, three and a half tenths off Nico’s pace with a 1:11.359.
“Today, Nico and Mark started the final test for the FW28 before the Bahrain Grand Prix,” explained Sam Michael, Technical Director. “The track was damp and cold this morning, but it cleared up for the afternoon. During the course of the day, Mark tested tyres for Bridgestone to finalise our choice for the initial races, while Nico spent the time working on mechanical set-up.” |
