After giving evidence at the World Motor Sport Council earlier this year in regard to their roles in the ‘spy’ scandal that hit Formula One this year, McLaren drivers Fernando Alonso and Pedro de la Rosa have both spoken to the Italian prosecutor in regard to the ongoing civil proceedings.
Alonso met with Giuseppe Tibis back on the ninth of this month while de la Rosa had his turn to be interviewed on Tuesday, both men speaking of the emails that passed Ferrari’s top secret engineering information between them.
While neither man is actually on trial, their knowledge of the case could be very useful in the civil proceedings against former Ferrari mechanic, Nigel Stepney, who is allegedly at the bottom of the entire affair. |
