Doornbos and Vettel to thrill Dutch fans at Zandvoort this weekend

In between taking part in the Turkish GP weekend and preparing for the upcoming Italian Grand Prix, Red Bull racing’s third driver, Robert Doornbos will be a very busy man as he heads back to his native Holland to play a very important part in the DTM race weekend taking place at his local Zandvoort circuit.

As fans wait anxiously for the start of the German touring car event, Robert will roar onto the circuit and complete some demo laps, roaring his Ferrari powered RB2 around the legendary circuit that hasn’t witnessed an Formula One race since 1985 when fans witnessed a classic race that saw Nikki Lauda hold off the charging Alain Prost in order to secure his final F1 victory. The track has been shortened and rebuilt since then and Robert can’t wait to delight the fans with a few hot laps and the odd do-nut.

“I’m looking forward to coming to my native Netherlands to complete some demonstration laps with my RBR Formula One car, at Zandvoort,” he said. “I am sure the spectators will have lots of fun.”

However, that won’t be the end of the entertainment as Robert will also take part in a unique event, along with BMW’s new test driver, Sebastien Vettel and DTM ace, Mattias Ekstrom. At 12 noon the three men will race their respective Red Bull F1, F3, and Audi A4 DTM cars to see which is best in this spectacular challenge. The Australian Grand prix does something similar for BMW with a F1 car, a BMW road car, and a V8 supercar, an event that certainly thrills the Motorsport crazed fans!
