There has been a lot of hullaballoo in the press recently regarding the increased cost of superlicence fees with drivers refusing to pay the huge hike in fees asked for by the sports governing body, the FIA, however according to Autosport the drivers have relented and paid the fees rather than start the new season off on a bad note.
It must be noted though that the drivers are far from happy at having to resolve the issue this way and as such have asked for a meeting with FIA President Max Mosley prior to the start of next month’s season opener down under in order to fully discuss the matter.
"The drivers are all unanimous on this," a source told Autosport. "We must meet Max before the Australian Grand Prix."
Mosley has remained strong in his refusal to budge over the price hike, despite the constant comments that the rise was unreasonable. Six drivers have already paid their fees with the rest expected to follow suit in the coming wee |
