Several media outlets have been reporting that the possibility of an engine switch between Red Bull Racing and Force India is on the cards, with the German media claiming that Force India will use Renault power and Red Bull Mercedes power in 2011.
It is a well known fact that Red Bull have been looking at making the switch to Mercedes power, however due to an agreement between Mercedes and McLaren, drawn up when the two broke away from each other when Mercedes decided to go their own way with their own team, McLaren have the power to put a complete stop to any possibility that one of their major rivals would get the same engine as they do.
While Renault engines are reported to be a little under par, performance wise, Red Bull Racing have had no trouble in getting things to work in their favour this season and therefore it is thought that this latest rumour is little more than that, rumour. |
