Ferrari alone at FIA meeting after other teams fail to appear
While two of their drivers were busy testing at the Barcelona circuit, Ferrari bosses Jean Todt and Ross Brawn attended a meeting with FIA boss Max Mosley to discuss the long term future of the sport, a meeting where all ten teams were meant to be represented, but the Italian squad ended up being the only team accounted for.
During a meeting with Bernie Ecclestone earlier this week, a meeting that didn’t involve Ferrari, the other nine teams asked that Friday’s meeting with the FIA President be postponed until after the Bahrain GP. This request was refused and therefore, according to Mosley, they stayed away from the meeting to sulk as they are upset over the new Concorde Agreement that Ferrari signed and the fact that Ferrari won’t become a party to the new testing restrictions.
"I think there is an element of sulking at the moment," he told Reuters. "It's a question of whether they are still sulking after Bahrain."
Another meeting has been scheduled for the 15th of April, however despite the fact that it was a very small gathering today, the meeting wasn’t a complete waste of time.
"We gleaned a great deal of useful information today, probably more than if we'd had the other teams here,"Mosley added. “It's much easier to talk to one team and we were fortunate enough today to be able to talk to a team who have demonstrated that they have got a good understanding of Formula One, what it takes to be successful and also what it costs.”
