Following on from this afternoon’s German Grand Prix victory that saw Fernando Alonso on the top step of the rostrum here in Germany after his teammate, Felipe Massa, was basically told to move over and let the Spaniard pass, just not in those exact words, Ferrari have been found guilty of issuing team orders and fined as a result.
The stewards of the course called up team bosses of the Italian squad to explain their side of the situation and deemed that they were in the wrong. A fine of 100,000 Euros was imposed, a small price to pay for the Maranello based squad, however the matter was then referred to the World Council when they meet in September.
The result of the race still stands. |
