While their rivals took to the sunny Valencia circuit in Spain today, the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro team opted to kick off a test at the overcast and wet Mugello circuit in Italy today where official drivers, Michael Schumacher and Felipe Massa had a 248 F1 each at their disposal.
The session, affected by fog at first and rain at the end of the day, saw Michael concentrating on general set-up ahead of the season opening Bahrain Grand Prix, with the emphasis on aerodynamics, covering a total of 47 laps to record a best time of 1’22’’623.
Meanwhile, Felipe’s program targeted reliability, even thought the Brazilian racer only managed 32 laps over the course of the day with the quickest being a 1’24’’249.
The Scuderia will continue testing at Mugello tomorrow, with Schumacher and Massa continuing their duties behind the wheel. |
