Flexi wing issue reignites
Just when we thought the flexi wing debate had finally been put to rest, it appears as if it has taken a new twist with images released after the recent Belgian grand Prix indicating that Sebastian Vettel’s front wing was ‘rolling’ just prior to hitting the side of Jenson Button’s McLaren.

Despite the new heavier load tests introduced in Belgium, there was significant deflection in the wing just prior to impact and it is now thought that whatever it was that caused the ‘roll’ effect on Vettel’s front wing, more than likely was the cause behind several of the German driver’s ‘mistakes’ this season.

These include the incident with his teammate in Turkey and even Webber’s incident with Heikki Kovalainen because the car is becoming unstable when the wing deflection combines with the difference in wing load from side to side as it comes out from behind the car in front.

There is a video of this available on the bbc website and if this is as it seems, then the situation will surely develop in the coming days as the sheer speed of Monza mixed with this situation could prove very deadly.
