Force India reprimanded for tyre bungle
It appears as if Ferrari were not the only ones before the stewards after Sunday afternoon’s German Grand Prix when the Force India team were reprimanded for their chaotic pit stops early in the event when the wrong tyres were put on the wrong cars after they collided with each other on the opening lap.

During the chaos at the start of their race, the pit crew put one of Liuzzi’s super soft tyres on the rear of Adrian Sutil’s car, along with three of the German’s own harder tyres while Liuzzi was given the opposite. As a result both drivers were called back in to switch the tyre over as it is against the rules to give one driver the other’s rubber.

"It was a case of cause-and-effect, one bad thing led to another," explained chief operating officer Otmar Szafnauer. “We had some issues in practice, which meant qualifying was not ideal, and in trying to be aggressive at the start we had a coming together, which in turn led to the confusion in the stops."
