With the news that seven time world champion Michael Schumacher has opted to join the new Mercedes Grand Prix team on a three year contract starting in the upcoming 2010 Formula One Championship season, 2008 champion Lewis Hamilton has revealed that he can’t wait to go head to head on the track with the legendary racer.
Lewis, who is about to enter his fourth year in the pinnacle of Motorsports, debuted the year after Michael retired and as such has never raced against the man he used to watch with awe in his younger days. But now he is looking forward to the year ahead even more so and can’t wait to see Michael racing back up at the front....
"It's great to have Michael back in Formula One," Hamilton told the Times. "He is a legend, a really nice guy, and I am happy for him he has again got an opportunity to do the best job in the world - race in Formula One. I used to watch Michael race when I was in the junior categories, and I always hoped I would be in Formula One while he was still around.”
“I'm now really looking forward to seeing him on the track and back at the top. It's brilliant news, and I wish him my absolute best on his comeback with such a fine team and company as Mercedes-Benz." |
