Honda evaluating new parts

Day one of this week’s Jerez test got underway in warm and sunny conditions with Christian at the wheel of the RA107-06. He kick-started the program before handing over to Rubens on Wednesday for the remaining two days of running as it is Jenson’s turn to rest from testing this week.

Christian spent the early part of the first morning completing various data runs as the circuit was pretty dusty following a weekend motorcycle event. By mid morning the circuit had improved enough to begin his planned program during which he ran through a front aero test. The Austrian then completed a baseline run after the lunch break before completing an evaluation of new mechanical parts. He completed 29 laps, making a total of 70 laps for the day.

The weather conditions were once again warm and sunny for day two with Rubens taking over the reins and spending the morning establishing a good baseline set-up before embarking on a mechanical and aerodynamic evaluation programme. In the sweltering heat of the afternoon session, where temperatures once again soared to a very uncomfortable 36 degrees, Rubens’ continued the aero programme for the day, posting 79 laps.
