Hungarian GP: FP2 – Vettel continues to lead the way
Red Bull racer Sebastian Vettel topped the timesheets in Hungary again this afternoon finishing ahead of Fernando Alonso and teammate Mark Webber. Felipe Massa was fourth in the second Ferrari ahead of the Renault of Vitaly Petrov. Lewis Hamilton was sixth quickest with Robert Kubica, Nico Hülkenberg, Jenson Button and Michael Schumacher rounding out the top ten.

Temperatures had risen for session two here this afternoon as drivers made their way back out onto the track for the second and final ninety minute free practice session of the day. Drivers were quick to take to the track once again and times are quick to go on the board.

Force India reportedly had another tyre bungle in the first session this morning, this time with the rubber on Paul di Resta’s car and they were fined for their efforts. Button complains of early traffic as he encounters several slower cars.

Times at the top of the leaderboard are constantly changing with Ferrari taking an early lead followed by the McLaren’s however the Red Bulls were yet to put in a lap in anger. They appear and while he is close, Vettel doesn’t instantly take top honours from Alonso, that doesn’t come until much later in the session when the super soft rubber comes into play.

Hamilton is the first to use the softer compound on offer here but while his rivals make good pace with it, the young Brit is down in sixth place with only minutes remaining on the clock.

Vettel continues to lead Alonso, Webber and Massa, as the time sheet resembles that from Hockenheim, the two Red Bulls and the two Ferrari’s battling it out. The two Renaults are also in it here with Petrov fifth and Kubica seventh.

Heikki Kovalainen has trouble in the Lotus with his car in pieces in the garage, the Finn obviously not going to make it out again to try and improve on his 24th fastest time.

After problems with the green matting at the end of the lap in the first session, replays can now be seen of Fernando Alonso’s Ferrari flicking up a piece of concrete.

The session comes to a close with Vettel still at the top of the leaderboard.
