I am doing things differently at Lotus

Former McLaren driver Heikki Kovalainen has refused to reveal just what his problems where with the Woking based squad last year, despite indicating that there definitely were some, especially toward the end of his tenure as Lewis Hamilton’s teammate.

“We tried very hard with McLaren towards the end of my time there. It didn't work out. I don't want to get into the reason why too much, there's no point," he was quoted as saying in the Telegraph.

The now Lotus racer did admit that he thinks he knows why his time at McLaren failed to produce the results he was hoping for, without giving anything away, but also revealed that he plans to do things quite differently at Lotus this year to ensure he gets the most out of the team.

"I think I know why it didn't work out for me and I am starting from another place now and let's see how it works out.  I am doing things differently at Lotus and my target is to get 100 per cent out of the team all the time. At McLaren I felt I didn't get everything out of the team."
