Despite having the worst qualifying performance of his comeback season so far at the Valencia circuit in Spain and then following it up with a very tough race on the street circuit, Mercedes drover Michael Schumacher is determined to continue racing well past the current 2010 season.
There have been several wild rumours doing the rounds about just who Mercedes is looking at to replace Schumacher, however the seven time world champion confirmed to the BBC that he is back in the series for the long haul.
"I'm not here with a short-term view. From my point of view we have a three-year programme. I've had to deal with much worse pain," he said. “I'm not happy or excited about P15 (where he qualified) that's natural, but it's part of the process in a way and part of the joy from a different point of view. Obviously we thought we would be closer and in a better situation but we have to work our way through it as we did in the past. Once the progress comes in, which I'm sure it will, then you get rewarded."
He eventually crossed the line one place lower than he started, in 16th. |
