I've told the team to prepare as normal

With the first major testing session of 2009 rapidly approaching, Red Bull Racing’s Mark Webber is on the verge of returning, revealing that his recuperation is on track to take part in the new cars first official run on the ninth of February.

"I've told the team to prepare as normal," he told Reuters. "I'm doing a lot of work in the pool, just getting the muscles firing again in that leg."

Webber broke his right leg in two places back in November of last year when he was involved in a head on collision with a 4WD whilst cycling during his Tasmanian challenge, however he is confident that his 2009 Formula one challenge will not suffer as a result.

"I'm going to learn a lot when I drive the car for the first time. I am extremely confident things will be right but if I have to adjust a few things, if I get any soreness in the leg, then I will,” he told the BBC. "I do not think I will be disadvantaged as a result of breaking my leg and I can tell you now that I will not be using it as an excuse in Melbourne. I will be there, ready to go."
