Jerez: Schumacher shatters record in Spain
For the final day of pre Suzuka testing, seven time world champion Michael Schumacher put his rivals firmly in their place by shattering the unofficial lap record at the Jerez circuit and finishing the day a massive eight tenths of a second quicker than his closest charger, the McLaren of third driver Alexander Wurz.

Ralf Schumacher was third quickest overall followed by British American Racing’s Anthony Davidson, who suffered a Honda engine failure during the session. Renault’s test driver Franck Montagny was fifth overall followed by Jarno Trulli in the Toyota TF104B.

This was the final day of testing at the Spanish circuit.
