Kimi Raikkonen’s win at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit may have boosted the morale in the McLaren camp, but it would have made one Formula One journalist cringe after doubting the team’s chances this year so much that he vowed to run naked around the circuit if the Woking based squad happened to win a race in the 2004 season.
Well, now it’s time to pay the piper.
Bob McKenzie, employed by the Daily express, will be wary of answering the phone this week in case it is the team wanting him to make good on his word. While some think he may have to do this streaking run around the Silverstone circuit, others believe it must be on the track where McLaren are victorious, in this case Spa.
But, wherever the venue, Kimi is hoping that there will be rain to mark the special occasion and he is fairly confident of being there to watch the momentous event, if McKenzie keeps his word that is….
“I definitely will go and hopefully it is raining heavily, so it will be even more fun,” Kimi laughed. “Let's hope that he will keep his word.”
