Mark is looking competitive says Michael
BMW WilliamsF1's Technical Director, Sam Michael, is more than happy with the way new driver Mark Webber performed at the Catalunya Circuit last week where he tried the FW26 on for size for the very first time. While he may not have topped the timesheets as his predecessor, Juan Pablo Montoya did at his new McLaren team, the Aussie racer has definitely demonstrated his motivation to the Grove based squad. “Mark had his first run in a Williams and was complimentary about the car,” Michael said on the team’s official website. “His attitude was immediately apparent and he got down to some serious work on the car, working with his new engineers straight away. In my estimation, he has already shown himself to be looking competitive with some strong times." Apart from a three week break over Christmas and the New Year, the Australian racer will continue testing, mainly in Spain up until it is time to leave for the season opening Australian Grand Prix in early March.
