The Mercedes-Benz race drivers from the 2004 season will take part in the 2004 Stars and Cars Day at Mercedes-Benz in Stuttgart with Formula One drivers Kimi Raikkonen, David Coulthard, Alexander Wurz and Pedro de la Rosa joining Mercedes-Benz DTM drivers led by the HWA team with runner-up Gary Paffett, Christijan Albers, Bernd Schneider and Jean Alesi; and the Mercedes talents racing in the Formula 3 Euro Series including champion Jamie Green.
Kimi Raikkonen, who finished second in the F1 season finale at Interlagos, is already looking forward to his fourth appearance at Stuttgart-Untertürkheim…
“Every year, the Stars & Cars day is a great event,” he said. “I look forward to meeting thousands of enthusiastic fans.“
During the entertaining program visitors will be able to meet the drivers and have a close look on the cars. The action will include real-life pit stop competitions between the DTM and Formula One crews, acceleration contests between race and production cars, demonstration runs of present and past racing cars and a presentation of present and former Formula One Safety Cars of Mercedes-Benz along the streets of the Untertürkheim manufacturing plant.
All drivers will be available for public interviews and autographs several times throughout the day and they will also take part in a drivers’ parade. For the first time, the 1909 "Blitzen-Benz" with an engine capacity of 21.5 litres will be seen running during the Stars & Cars Day. There will also be a competition with Kimi Raikkonen at the race simulator.
The event takes place on the 6th of November 2004 at the Mercedes-Benz manufacturing plant Stuttgart-Untertürkheim between 10:00 and 16:00 and admission is free.
