After the conclusion of the recent British grand prix the world of Formula One has a three week break before tackling the next event, the German Grand Prix, which will be held at the Nürburgring.
For this event, the BMW Sauber team will have another aero upgrade to assist in their battle to return to form and regular driver Nick Heidfeld is looking forward to this expected performance leap in front of his home fans....
"As a driver you never give up but always give your very best. And the team is also working hard on improving our situation,” he said on the team’s official website. “For the forthcoming races we expect bigger upgrades than what we had in England. The first will be for the race at the Nürburgring, while later in the season there will be another one or two enhancement packages."
Not only is round nine Nick’s home race, it is also one of the team’s home events, so the atmosphere and the support of the crowd will prove to be a motivating factor...
"It doesn't result in faster lap times, but I enjoy driving even more than usual as seeing all the German supporters is great. But when I'm sitting behind the wheel I fully focus on my job."
