Mosley planning retirement in 2009

According to reports in the Italian press, FIA President Max Mosley is planning to retire from his current position in 2009, when his current term expires.  This is not the first time he has announced his retirement with attempts to walk away made back in 2004 before he was asked to stay and subsequently reconsidered.

"This will be my last term,” he told Autosprint,” and I already have a substitute."

At this stage it is still unknown to the public just who he is planning to get to step up and fill his shoes, despite several names being mentioned in connection to the position in recent months.

Mosley has also commented that Formula One could risk being banned if the current fuel crisis worsens, unless advancements are made technology wise to discover a solution.
