The Jordan Grand Prix team will be introducing their new EJ15B at the upcoming Italian Grand Prix, however instead of having a new car at each drivers disposal, the Silverstone based squad has just one finished chassis and after winning a coin toss, the honour of piloting it for the very first time in race trim will fall to Tiago Monteiro.
Tiago’s teammate, Narain Karthikeyan, thought that the honour should fall to him as he has outpaced the Portuguese driver in qualifying, but thankfully the team will have another new chassis soon…
“At least for Spa (Belgium) there would be two cars," Narain told the Indian press.
With Monteiro finishing all of the fourteen races so far this season, it would be a shame if any teething problems with the new car prevented him from making it fifteen from fifteen this weekend….. |
