Reports in the British press indicate that former British American Racing boss David Richards is getting closer and closer to announcing plans to introduce the twelfth team to the Formula One grid in time for the 2008 championship season.
The Guardian states that there has been a ‘key move’ in the senior management division of Richard’s Prodrive empire, that competes in the World Rally Championship, with David Lapworth, who up until a few days ago held the position of performance director in Richard’s Rally Team, tipped to be a big part of the brains behind the proposed Formula One outfit.
With the addition of Super Aguri onto this years grid, the arrival of a team run by Richards in 2008 would see the maximum amount of cars allowed on the grid under Max Mosley’s new rules. |
