As reported earlier, British American Racing have put paid to Anthony Davidson’s chances of securing a race seat with the BMW WilliamsF1 team next season, something the Grove based have now confirmed to us as well.
“Anthony is not going to test for us since unfortunately we couldn't reach a contractual agreement with BAR,” we were told by the team.
It is speculated that even though BAR claim that they want to put conditions on the deal while Williams have insisted on an unconditional arrangement, hence the reason for the fall out, the real reason behind the change of heart stems from the ‘Buttongate’ issue earlier this year.
The talented young Brit was very keen to land the only competitive seat remaining on the 2005 grid, but while BAR are refusing to let him go to Williams, there is still a chance that he could land a deal with the Red Bull Racing outfit alongside Christian Klien.
