Spark plug not exhaust ruined Vettel’s race

During Sunday afternoon’s Bahrain Grand Prix it was thought that the Red Bull racer of Sebastian Vettel suffered with an exhaust issue that caused him to lose power on lap thirty three and subsequently drop back through the field.

However, after the race mechanics from the Milton Keynes based squad investigated the issue further and discovered that the loss of power was actually due to a spark plug failure and not the exhaust.

Vettel lost the lead to Alonso, then second to Massa and third to Hamilton but the young German drove brilliantly to bring the ailing car over the line in fourth place ahead of the two former Brawns driven this year by Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher.
