When the FIA released the 2010 entry list there was one major surprise, that Prodrive, thought to be a highly sought after entry, was omitted while Manor GP was given the final slot. Now it appears as if the current teams on the grid are suspicious about this entry and are looking to lodge a formal complaint.
According to reports in the Guardian, it appears as if Manor could have had some help in getting their entry approved with Chief Steward Alan Donnelly being connected to the team with a member of his company, Sovereign Strategy, handling all the PR work while he himself introduced Manor’s senior executive to team representatives at a recent Grand Prix.
Added to this, the team’s technical director, Nick Wirth, was head of Simtek a doomed team back in the 80’s, together with current FIA President Max Mosley. |
