As we here at automoto365.com revealed to you in September of last year, the tyres used for the upcoming 2007 Formula One championship season will adopt a very similar scheme to that used on the other side of the Atlantic, with a colour code to identify which cars are using which tyre.

As our spies revealed six months ago, fans will benefit from knowing just which compound drivers are using and when as the side walls will be painted in a separate colour.

This system has now been approved by the FIA, Bridgestone and the teams and will be put in place for the season opener next weekend.
