Even though they recently stated that they would not be in pole position for the 2008 season opener due to the fact that they refused to host a night race, the FIA does not seem to agree with their assumption and Australia has been officially announced as the first event next season on the 16th of March.
The 18 race provisional agenda adds the new Singapore event and the new European GP to be held at the Valencia circuit in Spain, while the USGP is notably absent without the appearance of any other US venue to take its place, at this stage. However, it must be noted that FOM boss Bernie Ecclestone is trying to organise an event elsewhere in America.
