Williams driver Nico Rosberg was thrilled at the prospect of racing in front of his home fans at last weekend’s German Grand Prix, however, he was forced to walk away disappointed after failing to cross the finish line in a points scoring position.
The main reason behind his disappointment is that the pace of his FW30 was better at Hockenheim than at either of the previous couple of races, indicating that it should have finished higher than his eventual tenth place. Added to that, he hasn't scored any World Championship points since Turkey and it's not a drought that he is particularly enjoying!
Despite that, he still enjoyed the Hockenheim event….
“The race was still good fun though because there was so much going on in the middle of the field,” he said on the team’s official website. “A clutch problem meant I got bogged down at the start and lost a place, but thereafter I had some good dices. After the Safety Car period, I had a great time racing with Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso; no-one gave an inch, but it was good, clean racing.”
