Reigning world champion Kimi Raikkonen has already voiced his disappointment at crossing the line down in sixth place at the German round of the 2008 season held at the Hockenheim circuit last weekend, the Finn at a loss as to explain why they didn’t have the pace to carry the challenge to Lewis Hamilton and McLaren.
However, after two days testing for the Scuderia at the Jerez circuit in southern Spain this week, the Ferrari racer is confident that they know have a much clearer picture of the situation….
“We have done many tests over these two days to try and understand what happened at Hockenheim and now we have a clearer idea on this matter,” he commented at the end of the day. “Today, the car had improved compared to yesterday and we hope to be ready for the next rounds. Our opponents are very strong, but there is still a long way to go in this championship and all the time to recover, given that in Formula 1 things can change a lot in no time at all.”
Kimi was busy working on comparisons between various different set-up options on the F2008 and at the end of the day he did a run on next season’s Bridgestone tyres. |
