Times are tough for Super Aguri and Spyker

The high rolling world of finances in Formula One is very often too complex, somewhat misleading but more often than not, disappointing for the small teams pledged support that fails to come. As such, the smallest team on the grid, Super Aguri, has finally taken matters into their own hands and sued their main sponsor, SS United, which has not yet paid them a penny.

Times are tough in F1 money wise and according to our spies in Turkey, the team has been in negotiations with Spanish GP2 team owners Alejandro Agag and Adrian Campos over a possible sale of shares. However, Aguri Suzuki does not want to sell more than 49 percent in order to keep control and the Japanese identity.

Super Aguri is not the only team feeling the pinch with Spyker also in talks about possible investors and buyers. There is still 30 to 40 million dollars that needs to be paid by the end of September, to Alexander Shnaider, who is the previous owner of the team. At the moment there is nobody who can pay that amount of money. Spyker has no money, and Michiel Mol doesn’t have enough of it. His father would have enough, but he is reluctant to finance the expensive hobby of his son any further.

A possible buyer could be Tony Texeira, the man who owns the A1 championship.
