TOSFED, on behalf of Motor Sporlari ve Organizasyon A.S. (MSO), have submitted a request to the sports governing body to withdraw their appeal against the FIA World Motor Sport Council decision dated September the 19th, 2006.

The decision handed down was in regard to the political mishap at the Turkish Grand Prix when Turkish Cypriot leader Mehmet Ali Talat presented the prize winning trophy to Felipe Massa when he was not authorized to do so. As a result they were finied a record five million dollars, half of which was paid recently while the other half was under appeal.

“The Judges of the International Court of Appeal will consider this request at the first available hearing,” was the FIA’s response to their request.
